Winchester pump action 22 mag, winchester model 62 for sale

"Winchester Model 62 and later the 62A, can last a lifetime, they were the .22 galley gun used in carnival shooting galleries for years and were often fired hundreds of times a day, thousands of times a week, year after year, after year!
The Winchester model 62 is also very accurate and about as reliable as .22 rifles can get."

The Winchester Model 62 was the third of a series of pump action rifles that Winchester produced in the .22 caliber, beginning with the 1890 and then the 1906 model.  Both previous slide actions were discontinued in 1932. Following in the previous models design, the Model 62 also features an exposed hammer. The Winchester Model 62 was in production from 1932 till 1958.

Every Model 62 was a take-down version and had a 23 inch round, tapered barrel. The Winchester Model 62 had a straight walnut stock and grooved slide handle.  The number of groves in the slide action handle changed over time, with earlier versions having less groves.

Winchester chambered the 62in .22 caliber and could feed short, long, and long-rifle interchangeably.  Additionally, a version specifically for the Gallery that was chambered for .22 short only.  The Gallery model had a triangular hole on the mag tube for loading.

A notable date for the Winchester Model 62 occurs in 1940, when the bolt was changed and thus prompted Winchester to change the model to the Winchester Model 62A.  Additionally all prior model 62s had a slide pump forearm that was 5 3/4" long, at that point the newer models switched to 8" long.  The grooves cut in the forearm also increased from 10 to 17.

The Winchester 1890, 1906, 62, and 62A all used basically the same pump action design and the 62A uses coil springs instead of flat springs like the earlier models.
